The appeal doesn't really make sense does it?
I think maybe because it looks so fantastical, so unreal for an adult, developed woman to be slight like a child. So unreal also for such slightness to allow an individual to partake in everyday life... there is no famine, no hunger strike here! It seems impossible that such a body could be part of regular life. Maybe thats the appeal? because such an unpractically-skinny woman seems like a creature outside of the vein of humanity? like a grown up youth, but not an adult?
Like a snap shot of transience beauty, because it could never be that such a body would survive a moment longer.
(like my Blanche DuBois reference? haha)
